The distraught family of a 21-year-old woman found dead in a boatyard have said she will be greatly missed.

The body of Corinna Baker was found at Netpool Boat Yard in Cardigan, Ceredigion, at around 12:35 GMT on Saturday.

A 29-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder.

“We as a family are distraught at the loss of our beloved Corinna,” the family said.

“She was much loved, and she will be greatly missed by her whole family and all those who were blessed to have known her.”

Dyfed-Powys Police’s Det Supt Wayne Bevan said: “Our thoughts are with Corinna’s family at this understandably tragic time.”

The force said there would be an increased police presence in the area.

It is appealing for information.

Richard Dracy Evans, 63, from Cardigan, said it had been a “shock” to hear what had happened.

He said he and his friend were getting ready to go out on the water on Saturday morning when police arrived at the scene.

“The fire service, police, ambulance and the coastguard came all at once, so we realised it was quite important,” he said.

“The police had a great sense of urgency.”

He added that the “ghastly” event was “out of character” for what he described as a “beautiful area”.

“It obviously does colour the whole area,” he said.
